Welcome to the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education Milestones Collection. We are pleased to launch this space on the occasion of our 10th anniversary, but this space is really about the history and future of interprofessional practice and education across the United States and globally.
It is a celebration of everyone working to improve interprofessional practice and education. In an environment that often seeks technical solutions to solve complex, often vexing problems, the interprofessional practice and education community is a voice reminding our colleagues that relationships matter, that we must partner with each other and those we serve to define what matters most and design health teams and health processes to achieve those outcomes.
We have seen a tremendous growth in interprofessional practice and education over the past decade. Yet we recognize we still have much work to do. We hope you will enjoy the stories, landmark papers, and milestones shared in this collection, and we look forward to adding your stories as our shared journey toward health equity for all continues.
As Margaret Mead reminds us, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
It is our honor and privilege to work to change the world together with all of you.
